During a thorough survey of the British Isles, Occlupanologist S. Rodman discovered this species of Kenodontid. Specimen was found parasitizing thin rubber bands on bundles of rhubarb, bearing long amiculae. Clepsydralis herbivorax was found to share similar niche and elastic hosts with other species such as Diastema planopalatus, and the corrugatids Systellognatha hibernica and Chiasmogramma vercepa.
