Specimens of genus Stenocorpus have not been seen in decades, but occlupanologist E. Welby discovered three of this species in 2020 during a survey of a large deposit of hoarded occlupanids. Its oral groove differs from others in having a wider opening at the base. Like others of its genus, there is no record of its host.
