Kamptoconidae
“Flexible cone”
The amazing discovery of the Kamptoconidae represents a major shift in occlupanology. Though it clearly resides in the occlupanida, it has features that stand apart from every known occlupanid to date. Flexbile and pliant, kamptoconids are able to wrap themselves into a three-dimensional cone, at the center of which lies a triangular oral groove. To aid its peculiar grasping technique are two further adaptations: asymmetric palps that allow for one to insert into the other, aided by interlocking tubercles that protrude from its dorsal side. These incredible traits place Kamptoconidae into its own separate order, The Kirigami.
