21.5 mm x 25.5 mm. Large lateral palps.
Many images have been sent to HORG depicting this species from various parts of North America, tantalizing our staff taxonomists with the possible existence of a large-palped Haplognathid. Though such palps are common in many other occlupanid families, Haplognathids usually have poorly developed lateral palps, if at all. But at last this legend has been found and formally identified. The migratory tendencies of V. teleplanktos were confirmed by occlupanologist A. K. Golsch, who discovered this specimen in a variable clattering hoard from Alachua, Florida, on its way to the Western United States. While there is no known host at present, it is thought to have attached to some sort of bagged fruit; it is conjectured that its migratory patterns are in season with various produce. There is presence of an amicula on its obverse side.
