Smooth and rectangular. Size 21.5 mm X 19 mm.
This unusual specimen is unlike any other Acutignathid thus far described. The sole specimen observed was found in a mixed species occlupanid colony in Calabasas, CA. It stands out from other Acutignathids for its narrow body, and small tapered processes on its lateral edges. Of all occlupanids it is most similar to Vadosulpalpus crustulum, and some researchers theorize that as M. modestus has died out, V. crustulum evolved to take over its environmental niche. Keen-eyed occlupanologists are exhorted to keep alert for any further specimens. Discovered and described by occlupanologist C. Huning of DWORC.
